The APSIM Initiative Steering Committee Members
The APSIM Initiative is pleased to welcome its new Steering Committee members and extends heartfelt congratulations to Keith Pembleton on his appointment as Chair of the AI Steering Committee. We would also like to express our deep gratitude to Sarah Bromley for her exceptional leadership and significant contributions as the outgoing Chairperson.
The founding members of the APSIM Initiative include the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), the State of Queensland (represented by the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries), and The University of Queensland. AgResearch Ltd., New Zealand, joined as a partner in 2015 under the Second APSIM Innovation Agreement, followed by the University of Southern Queensland in 2017. Iowa State University became a member in March 2020, with The New Zealand Institute of Plant and Food Research joining in June 2021.
The Steering Committee members of the APSIM Initiative play a pivotal role in shaping its vision and direction. They are the architects of collaboration, bringing together expertise from diverse institutions to push the boundaries of agricultural science and innovation. By providing strategic oversight and guidance, the Steering Committee ensures that APSIM remains at the forefront of modelling and decision-support tools for sustainable agriculture.
