Resources

Resources in CLEM are all the things used to operate a farm, usually with some value. They can be thought of as stores of items and can be tangible objects such as piles of feed or a commodity such as labour where people's time and effort is the resource. All activities act to create or use resources.

Resources are provided in the Resource holder placed directly below the CLEM component and consist of a number of resource groups with any number of resource types within each group.

The value or price of a resource can be supplied by adding a Resource pricing component below a Resource type. While the Resource type specifies the units of measure for the resource (e.g. kg, each, tonnes, litres), the Resource pricing sets the packet size or number of resource units in a saleable block (e.g. 25 kg bale, dozen eggs, 1,000 L). All activities will respect this pricing, and the packet size, when trading the resource. Activities can even adjust the price based on condition in the simulation.
