Collect all manure

Collect manure from yards and fields so it is available for other activities.

This activity collects manure from all locations in the simulation and places it into an available pool where it can be used by other activities (see Managing manure).

Collection of manure from a particular paddock is available if you want to specify where manure is collected from.

The following components are required to use this activity

Management of manure requires a special Product store type manure to be placed in the Product store and named "Manure". Animal growth activities will automatically add to this store which will handle decomposition if not collected immediately.

A Ruminant herd with Ruminant type and a Grow ruminants activity is required to produce the manure. If individuals have been moved then manure will be available in locations (based on Graze food store names representing paddocks), otherwise all manure will be in the general yards which is the area around there farm where animals must be fed (lot feeding).

Other animals will produce manure in future.

Any Activity fee will include financial costs based on any specified identifiers and units and may limit the outcomes if supported and OnPartialResourcesAvailableAction set to UseAvailableWithImplications

This activity will occur in every time-step unless timers are used to restrict this activity (see Using timers).

This activity is performed during the Collect Manure event of the setup and time-step events. This ensures that all manure has been created from the animals intake and growth calculations, as well as being distributed to the paddocks and yards, before collection.
