Building your simulation

Just as no two farms are alike, CLEM is unlike less flexible models where you provide all the required data and parameters, hit the run button and view the results. Before you can use CLEM you have to build your own custom simulation that describes the system. This modular style allows for great flexibility in the scope of simulations possible, but does require some learning to understand how the various components are put together.

This section will provide details of how you go about building the powerful simulation tree structure that defines your simulation. We get started by looking at the minimum structure required for an APSIM Next Generation simulation including CLEM. Then we look at how to manage model components in the tree, the importance of component order, providing data and parameters, adding notes, and how to link to external data.
