Transmute
CLEM.Transmute
Defines a resource (B) to transmute into a shortfall resource (A)

The Transmute component specifies the type and quantity of a single resource (B) required to create a specified packet of resource found to be in deficit (A) by a requesting activity (see Managing transmutation).

The following parameters are associated with this component

The resource type (B) that will transmute into the resource in shortfall (A, the resource above this transmutation branch in the simulation tree)
A drop down list of all resources available

The amount of the transmute resource (B) required to supply the specified packet size of the shortfall resource (A)
Requires Direct transmute style

Two methods of determine the rate of transmuting the transmute resource (B) into the shortfall resource (A) are provided

This approach uses a set amount of (B) per packet (A), and will only create whole packets if specified in the Transmutation. This is represented by AèB in descriptive summaries.
This style can be used with a Finance when no resource pricing is available by manually defining the price in Amount (B) per packet (A) in this component.

This approach uses the Resource pricing structures set up with each resource in the simulation. These pricing structures can define the purchase, sale, or both, pricing for the resource as well as defining the size of packets used in purchases and sales.
From the pricing of both the transmute resource (B) into the shortfall resource (A) we can determine the rate of transmuting. Warnings will be generated if pricing is not available when transmuting the resource. This is represented by Aè$èB in descriptive summaries.
When selected the Transmution.TransactionPacketSize, Transmutation.UseWholePackets and the AmountPerPacket of this component are determined from pricing details.

If a Finance type is provided when using the pricing transmute style, all pricing transactions are reported in the Finance ledger akin to selling resource the transmute resource (B) to earn money to buy the shortfall resource (A) needed. This approach also means that if more Transmute resource (b) needed to be sold than was needed to buy the required shortfall resource (A) due to the selling rules, the excess will be stored in the finance type and available for future activities. This is represented by Aè$ $èB in descriptive summaries.
No transactions is the default value and an option of the drop down list of Finance resources
Only required when using Use pricing transmute style
