APSIM 7.2 Documentation

APSIM 7.2 Documentation
nb. All the pages in this Documentation section are EDITABLE by users. However you need to get a user account first. You can become a user by first clicking 'Admin Links' in the top right corner of this screen then click the "Create Account" link. Once you do this an Administrator will need to approve you. If the Administrator does not send you an email then just email Apsim Licensing asking to be approved.

For Users:

This is a Wiki. So if you see that the documentation for a particular module of APSIM is incorrect, you can just change it yourself to what it should be. You don't need our permission. You can also add new information as well. You can rollback any changes you make, so don't be afraid to change things. We can also rollback the changes if we don't like them.

To edit a page just click the "Edit" button in the top right corner.

You can write in plain text, HTML or in special WikiMarkup language (or you can combine them all).

Warning: Don't click on the Visual or Preview tabs, they just mess things up. Just enter the plain text, html or wiki markup on the WikiMarkup tab.

Most of these pages have been imported from HTML pages which is why there is so much HTML in them. But don't be put off by this. When you click the edit but you will see the "What You See Is What You Get" editor. Just type in plain text in amongst any of the html and use the formating buttons on the toolbar just like you would in Microsoft Word.

To see how to write in the WikiMarkup language click here.

Note: If you are not happy with your changes you can do a rollback to the way it was before, just by clicking the "History" button (near the Edit button), then clicking the "Rollback" link for the previoius version that you want to roll it back to.

For General Public:

Note: You can use RSS to subscribe to the page for a particular module. This will mean that you are alerted when anyone makes corrections to the page for that module. To do this you will see the orange RSS button on the top right side of each page. To learn more about RSS just do a Google Search on it. Tip: You can subscribe to all of the module documentation by clicking the "Categories" link (top right corner of the screen) and then next to the category called "ModuleDoco" you will see an "RSS" link. Just click this.

Print the Training Manual (from wiki - this will include any changes up to right now)

Printing Tip for wiki training manual: When printing you can remove the Header/Footer (this is the url and date/time at top/bottom of the page). In your browser (Internet Exploer, Firefox etc.) under the 'File' menu you will see 'Page Setup' (above 'Print'). It has an option to remove the header/footer. Just delete all the symbols/commands in the text box so it is blank. They represent what stuff to put in the header/footer. You can leave the page number symbols/commands if you want.

Also set the left and right margin to zero.

Module Documentation

Access to APSIM source code

Access to the source code and validation data of all APSIM modules is now made available to our users. This service is provided as a service for users so that they can see how the APSIM modules are coded and how they work.

The Apsim Initiative retains ownership of all APSIM source code and files. By clicking the 'SourceCode' or 'XML' link below, you agree not to copy, modify or distribute any of the files in this section.

Module Pages

nb. The XML files below are used to configure either the Plant - SourceCode or Plant2 - SourceCode module to be that specific type of plant.
The modules with SourceCode links below also have an XML file which is used to configure that module. They can be viewed under the Model directory (just scroll down past all the module sub directories) SourceCode.

nb. The modules listed below is not a comprehensive list of all the modules in APSIM. It is just a list of the modules for which we have done some documentation.

External Apsim Modules

Users can provide documentation here for modules that they have developed, but are not part of our official build.

You do this by first clicking 'Admin Links' in the top right corner of this screen then click the "Create a new page" link. Once your page is created, add a link to your new page under this line. You do this by just editing this page.

Or you may simply write under here a brief description of the module you have created and perhaps give some sort of contact details in case someone may be interested in your work.
