| Done. I've modified the change tool to remove the <registrations> tag from all paddocks it finds.

.APSIM files seem to contain some xml fragments which are no longer required. for example, paddocks seem to contain a <registrations name="global" /> tag. A generic ui will find this and attempt to interpret it.
The .apsim file converter should be changed to remove all these.
